Star Wars event - Part 2 - tidbits

Happy Thursday!

As you most likely know by now, Tsum Tsum released the Star Wars event - Part 2 yesterday!

First off, there is a Lucky time for the five tsums that came out last month: Luke Skywalker, Yoda, R2D2, Darth Vader and BB-8. Lucky time will be between Wed, June 1st to Sat, June 4th.

Tidbit: Star Wars tsums are super useful in this second Star Wars event! I highly recommend trying to get Luke Skywalker, BB-8, or R2D2! I used all three, and all three are pretty effective, however I did find that Luke Skywalker was the most useful of the five because it crosses the screen in an X and thus spans a larger screen area, increasing your hit rate with the stormtroopers. The most I was able to eliminate was 16 with Luke Skywalker, compared to the 13 with BB-8 and R2D2.

Once you enter the game, it will showcase a number of instructions of how to play the event. In summary:

  • The Star Destroyer will appear at any part of the game on any of the hearts available to your disposal. For me, it appeared almost at every single heart I had, whereas for my friend, he only got it once every other heart.
  • Once the Star Destroyer appear, you have only 60 minutes to defeat the mission.

Tidbit:
Save up as many hearts as you can for this! It will suck to have to wait for 15 minutes before you get the next heart to try and finish your battle. As you progress through the 30 battles, the amount of time required to finish the next battle will increase, so save up as many hearts given to you from your friends as you can and request for hearts as many times as you can throughout the day. Two tidbits coming on how to decrease the amount of time (and thus less hearts needed) required to complete each battle and therefore the overall event!
  • What happens when the Star Destroyer is attacking? Well, just like the Star Wars Part 1 event, Stormtrooper heads will fall on your screen. You just try to hit as many stormtroopers through your tsum skill or through bubbles in the 60 seconds of your game.
  • Note: in the end, even if you have bubbles next to the stormtrooper's head, when it bursts, it will not take out that extra stormtrooper for you.
  • Instead of just hitting it on one round, you may end up having to go through a few more hearts in order to completely take down the Star Destroyer. So if you don't finish destroying all the stormtroopers onboard you will need to keep going.

Tidbit: Use a Star War tsum!! Particularly Luke Skywalker! I think the game mechanics allow Luke Skywalker get more character bonus points than the other tsums (having said this, I only used BB-8 and R2D2 other than Luke in this event). Note: Each stormtrooper you hit equals to 10 points. Usually I get around 100 bonus points to 200 bonus points each game I use Luke, which is equivalent to 10 to 20 stormtroopers, or at least 2 hearts' worth of game play.
  • Once you finish eliminating all the stormtroopers onboard, you will see an animation of the Star Destroyer disappearing and you completing the battle.

  • The next battle will appear and you continue on this loop until the end of Battle 30.
  • The fun parts are in between each battle. After completing each battle, you get a prize, such a Score ticket, Experience Ticket, and various amounts of coins. You will get a premium ticket and a skill ticket too within the last 5 to 7 battles of this event!!

  • Another prize you must be curious about is Princess Leia! You will get her 6 times at different points of the event! Each time you get her, you skill her up until you finally max her out at Skill 6!! I highly recommend going through the entire event so you can max out her skill! She is super useful in attaining lots of coins in the coming weeks. With her, I have managed to get 1800 coins at least without using any bonuses! Furthermore, there are three major advantages with using her: 1) she stops time before her skill gets used, 2) she lets all the tsums fall down first before she fires, and 3) once she is charged up and you press the bottom left button to activate her skill, she fires all on her own!

So how do you decrease the number of hearts you need to use to successfully bypass each attack card? With friends!! You can choose to help a friend out by changing from your name at the bottom of the screen to someone else. When you click on the orange button next to your name where the start button of the game is, you see this list of friends who are currently playing as well. By clicking "battle" next to their name, you are essentially helping them battle the stormtroopers as well!

Tidbit: Coordinate with your friends on a specific time of night or lunch hour where you will all be playing and help each other! When you help each other battle the stormtroopers, you effectively double your hit points! So say for example you hit 10 stormtroopers. On your own game, it'd only count as 100 points (10 points x 10 stormtroopers). When you help your friends with their own attacks, you essentially double this to 200 points! PLUS when you use a Star War tsum (note only R2D2, BB-8, Darth Vader, Yoda and Luke counts for this), you get extra character bonus points which further helps you finish the attack faster and progress faster through the event! Once you have helped your friend finish their attack you will see this screen pop confirming you have helped defeat the Star Destroyer!

You also get to see how much each of your friends have helped you at the end of each attack mission!

Tidbit: when you help your friends with their attacks, there is a possibility that a grey capsule drop from the top. When you hit it, it will disappear and the prize inside would be yours after the game ends. In the grey capsule you can get coins, various bonus tickets (e.g. score, experience, 5-to-4, etc.), and a possibility of getting C-3PO again!!

Note: I had previously used a skill ticket to see if my Skill 3 C-3PO will skill up another full amount. Indeed it did! Though as you can see above, it will take two C-3POs to get up to Skill 5.

Since your friends will help you with your own attacks too, you actually end up finishing your Star Destroyer attacks in half the time - remember, you double the effectiveness by helping each other out! How else did I manage to finish the event within the span of about 7 hours! At the end, there's a summary screen that lets you see how much each of your friends has helped you through the attacks!

Once you're done, you get some nifty pins that you can display next to your name!

I really liked this last pin I got. Made me feel so accomplished, even though it's just a digital and intangible reward.

The best part? You can continue to help your friends with their attacks after you're done all your attack missions!! So you can continue to battle against the stormtroopers as long as you still have a friend who has not finished all of his/her attacks yet. AND you still continue to get prizes for helping out your friends through the grey ball that drops from the sky!

Hope this has helped you figure out how best to attack the stormtroopers in this latest event from Tsum Tsum! You have until Sun, Jun 19th to complete this second event! Good luck!

Happy Tsuming and may the force be with you!
